Law enforcement is one of the most recent groups to begin gaining the benefits from applying lean thinking to its operations.  LAPD, Michigan State Police and West Virginia State Police are among the growing number of law enforcement agencies turning to lean to deliver higher value to citizens and prosecutors, while simultaneously reducing costs and improving morale.

Lean makes its debut in fiction!  In Joseph Finder’s recent thriller, Company Man, Finder’s fictional company uses lean manufacturing and kaizen to achieve its results and the CEO performs Gemba walks.  You know what has to be next….
